How do fees work on Take My Tack?

Joining and starting a shop on Take My Tack is free. There are no fees to list the tack you have to sell, no pay-out fees and no transaction fees. We believe in the importance of transparency, to make it easier for the seller to understand the fees involved.

That is why we are a commission based marketplace website. We take 20% off the list price for all horse tack.

If you sign up for the Warmblood plan, the commission amount remains at 10% and you are able to utilise uAfrica to have your order conveniently collected and delivered. What’s more there is no limit on the number of items you can sell. 

What do I need to do to create a shop?

It’s easy and quick to register as a seller and set up a shop on Take My Tack. On the Thoroughbred Plan, simply register using your physical address. Once you are a seller, you can become verified and receive a verified status by uploading your passport and proof of address.

Becoming a verified seller adds a layer of trust between yourself and your customer and customers will be more inclined to purchase from you.

How do I get paid from the sales I make?

Take My Tack has a simple solution of payouts via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). Simply add your banking details to your dashboards and at the end of every month, we will deposit the funds into your bank account free of charge.

Who ships the products that are sold?

When someone purchases tack on Take My Tack, the seller is responsible for shipping directly to the customer. When you become a seller on Take My Tack, you are able to set your own shipping amounts based on weight or zone and when you receive your payout, it will include the shipping.

What can I sell on Take My Tack

Take My Tack encourages users to sell their secondhand horse tack, as well as riding clothing and any accessories associated with the equestrian industry.
